Obituary of Zofia Raguza

R A G U Z A Zofia Raguza May 8, 1931 – November 7, 2021 Zofia Raguza (née Duliban), 90, of Philadelphia, passed away on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at her home in Port Richmond. She was born May 8, 1931 in Jazwiska, Poland to Piotr and Jozefa Duliban. On November 26, 1951 she married the love of her life, Mieczyslaw Raguza, in Jazwiska, Poland. After surviving both World War II and Soviet occupation of Poland, she imigrated to America in 1970 with her husband and four children. Zofia was a very talented woman. She was an expert seamstress, phenomenal cook and baker, was involved in the local Polish community, and was a long-time member of St. Adalbert’s Church. She spoke multiple languages and cherished her Polish heritage. She was a veteran participant in the 100 mile Catholic pilgrimage from Great Meadows, NJ to Our Lady of Czestochowa Shrine in Doylestown, PA. She loved being with her family. Most importantly, she was a woman of great faith and dedicated her life to caring and loving others above herself. She bore witness to her faith on a daily basis and exemplified the meaning of “self-less love”. Zofia was preceded in death by her husband, Mieczyslaw Raguza. She is survived by her children, Eva Raguza-Lepkowski (Wieslaw), Maria Raguza-Lopez, Beata (Norman "Bud") Stark and Darek Raguza; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing Friday November, 12th 9:00 AM at St. Adalbert Church 2645 E. Allegheny Ave. Phila., PA 19134. Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 AM. Interment is at Our Lady of Czestochowa Cemetery in Doylestown, PA. Zofia Raguza zmarła 7 listopada 2021. Żona zmarłego Mieczysława. Najukochańsza mama Ewy Raguza-Lepkowski (Wiesław), Marii Raguza-Lopez, Beaty Stark (Norman "Bud") i Darka Raguza. Babcia czternastu wnucząt oraz Prababcia dziesięciu. Rodzina, znajomi i przyjaciele, zaproszeni są na ostatnie pożegnanie Zofii w Piątek 12 listopada 2021 w godzinach od 9 AM do 10:30 AM w kościele pw Świętego Wojciecha. 2645 E. Allegheny Ave. Philadelphia, PA 19134. Msza Święta pogrzebowa rozpocznie się o godz. 10:30 AM. Pochowanie Ciała nastąpi na cmentarzu w amerykańskiej Częstochowie.
