Obituary of Joan M. Pikunas

Pikunas, Joan Marie (neeMcCafferty) May 2, 2021 at 83 years of age of Delanco, NJ. Loving wife (64 years) of Raymond J. Pikunas; mother of Donna Pikunas (deceased), Raymond T. Pikunas, Gerald (Lisa)Pikunas, Judith (David) Wisniewski, Karen Pikunas-Fountain, and Patrick (Kerryanne) Pikunas; grandmother of Dana, Heather, Stephanie, Jacqueline, Courtney, Alexandra, Ryan, Christopher, Eric, Patrick, and Quinn: great grandmother of Thomas, Hannah, Benji, and Isabel. She will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews, as well. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Mass with the Pikunas family on Saturday, May 8, at 10:30 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Church, Cinnaminson, NJ. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in Joan’s Memory. Joan was born on October 30, 1937, to James A. and Frances McCafferty. Her siblings were James (Dee), Maryanne (Martin) Joyce and Francis (Loretta). After spending her early years in the Cramer Hill section of Camden, NJ, the family later moved to the Port Richmond neighborhood of Philadelphia. After marrying Ray, they raised their children in Port Richmond, before eventually moving to Cinnaminson, NJ and later to Delanco, NJ. Joan was a graduate of the Nativity B.V.M. Business School and she was employed with Philadelphia National Bank, then CoreStates Bank. After retirement, Joan was a dedicated volunteer with Contact and Cuddle Care Programs, she also enjoyed painting and ceramics.
